Where did November go?

Wow the month of November has flown by so fast. We have been so busy.

The first weekend John and I took the kids to an air show in Charlotte. Abbie and Samson enjoyed watching the air planes fly over head. We got go in one plane that flew during WW2. Samson loved the P-40 warhawk the front of it was painted like a sharks mouth. Abbie loved watching the parachuters jumping from one of the planes. They also did demonstartions of bombs going off. It was awesome.

The next week was the yearly Football Cheer off. Let me just say that our Old Fort Vikings were amazing!! They sparkled and shined. It is so much fun watching them cheer. It was also heart breaking to know that this is Abbie's last year with them. We by far had the best coaches Kim Combs and Shanna Parker.

Then came time to take our Youth group from Church to "Hearts on Fire" in Gatlinburg TN. It was an amazing experience. Most of the youth group had never been, some of them had never really got to feel the Holy Spirit move. We listened to two really good speakers, and had some of our kids to get Saved! While we were there we also took them shopping in Gatlinburg. For me I got the wonderous joy of driving the Church's Mini-Bus in heavey traffic.

This past weekend was Thanksgiving! It was hard not having Mammaw this year. We also got to meet our newest neice Madison Brooks for the first time. She was born on Nov 5th. We went shopping on black friday again. It was very busy. Abbie had fun at the mall. Samson slept through it. And on Saturday we finished up decorating our Christmas tree. Then we baked cookies and watched Christmas movies the rest of the night.

Looking at the calender for December it will be just as busy if not busier. But personally I'm hoping for a white Christmas so we can just relax and watch it snow.

Happy Halloween!

So it is offically Fall of the year. On October 28th Abbie went to the school's first dance of the year with one football players Dustin. She looked so cute and grown up. Her cheer coach Kim Combs took a picture of her and Dustin danceing. She was so embarassed to find out that this picture was posted to facebook. Me I thought it was funny. All in all she had a really good time at the dance. It is so hard to believe that she is in 6th grade, and almost a teenager.

Monday was Halloween. When Samson woke up that morning he was so excited and could not wait to go trick or treating. The minute Abbie got home from school he thought that it was time to get dressed for Halloween. He of course had to be a Fireman.
Abbie decided to be a clown.
After both kids were ready we went over to Black Mt. to see Chris at the Fire Dept. and then went trick or treating on Church St. It was decorated so neat. Some of the homes had small fire pitts so you could get warm. Most of the homes were really decked out. There was a ton of people walking the streets. Both the kids had a blast, and were tired when we left. In years past we just went to family and friends homes driving all over the county. I think in some ways this was really neat. Abbie said she really enjoyed it. Samson thought it was just awesome! So I guess we will be going back next year.
